Parenting is the hardest job in the world but I don’t need to tell you that. You know all too well how hard it is. It is hard I believe because we all truly understand the significance of the job we are doing. The lives of our little ones are in our hands. We are responsible for making sure that they are safe, fed and loved every day, but we are also responsible for the people they are to become, the adult that child will grow up to be. We all want our children to grow up to be smart, strong, independent, and loving people. That is a lot of pressure for goodness sake! I feel the stress of it from time to time, do you?
First I want to tell you a little about me and my life. I am a working mother (as all of us are). I just happen to work outside the house. I have two beautiful, smart and busy girls. They are 8 and 6 years old. I am married to a talented artist who works full time and works as a freelance artist on a regular basis. I also work full time and freelance. I work in the media in the evenings so I am home during the day when my kids might need me but am away for dinner and bedtime.
Our work schedules make for a hectic life. Several days a week I drop the girls off at their grandparents’ and then my husband picks them up. The other two days they have a baby sittter. I miss out on a lot of stuff with my kids during the week when school is on but my schedule is great for summer when I can spend every day with my kids. That is the time that we really get to connect again. I love those summer days. Parenting and a busy schedule can make life more than a little stressful some days but it is all about how you decide to handle it.
I hope this space will allow me to bring you tips, tricks, advice and information that will help you and I be better parents and generally live better, happier, more fulfilling lives. I hope that it will help us all to raise better kids. I want it to be a sharing experience. You tell me the things you want to know about and I will do my best to research the topics, write the articles and interview the people who can enable us all to be better parents, better people and live better, happier and more blessed lives.
I know it might sound a bit too grand but why not set the bar high. I look forward to writing articles for you, with you and about you.
Christy is a Mom to two girls, wife to a busy artist, freelance writer and radio news editor. A twitter addict when she has free time…which is not often. She is often pondering some of the most difficult questions of the Universe…like why there aren’t enough hours in the day? Anyone have an answer for that one? She is on a journey to a better life and part of that means seeing the bliss in everything, living in the magic of life every single day. Christy’s hope as part of this blog is to share some of the best tips, tricks and advice to help you (and herself ) be a better person and a better parent. “We all want to raise strong, independent, smart children and I hope I am able to bring you articles that help you do just that. Let’s learn and share together.”
