With two small children in the house it seems that I’m always cleaning up one mess or another. Milk from a tipped sippy cup on the sofa, invisible cereal crunching underfoot as I walk by…

Some days it seems that they are creating more messes than I can keep up with! So when I was given the opportunity to test out the Bissell Little Green portable deep cleaner I jumped at the chance!
The Little Green is light and compact, even with all the tools attached, with an easy-carry handle, perfect for cleaning up random kid spills all around your home. The entire machine contains at least 50% recycled plastic and PVC –free parts, and it only took about 10 minutes from taking it out of the box to being ready to use. And since you can leave leftover cleaning solution in the container, the next time I need to use it (likely, tomorrow) it will take just minutes for me to pull it out of storage, plug it in and get cleaning! I tested it on the area rug we have in our living room, a very high traffic area that takes the brunt of the assault when it comes to overturned sippy cups, smashed snacks and arts and crafts gone wrong.
Having never used more than a wet cloth and various cleaning solutions to spot clean this carpet before, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was shocked at just how much dirt the Little Green pulled up! Using the Tough Stain Brush with the rotating head, I used it against the carpet grain to clean away the dirt that my vacuum cleaner missed. All of the stains on the carpet were old, but with a little elbow grease the Little Green made the section of carpet I worked on look almost brand new! I had to hold myself back from tossing a fresh bowl of tomato pasta on the floor just so I could see how it performed with a fresh stain! No need. If the Little Greencan pick up this much old dirt, I know it will perform excellently when faced with whatever fresh stain my 19-month-old can throw at it!
The Little Green is also good for cleaning up spills on upholstery and in cars.I’m looking forward to using it on both and extending the life of my carpets and furniture, as well as the spring cleaning of my minivan! Much cheaper than getting it detailed, for sure! No more blotting up messes with a wet towel for me! I can now get a professional clean done at my convenience.
The Little Green retails for aprox. $99 and is available wherever carpet cleaning machines are sold.
